Dolphin Song

This song goes with my hope for the future. Love this one.

Dolphin Song
Tori Amos

Matthew bring in your fishing nets
have you caught yourself a woman
caught yourself a woman
yet sometimes you call me Melusine
after the Lady of the Fountain in whose lake you took a drink
and boy I know I know that you burn
for your water spirit

Now that I know
I know the lengths that you’d go
to chase the roughest tide that’s right behind me
yes I know
I know the lengths that you’d go
to bring the roughest tide in

Smooth like Dolphin
Smooth like Dolphin

I sought shelter in our child’s room
she and me against the world
safe in our cocoon
you raced a giant roller-skate
and said ‘ the three of us must leave this place
song lines will guide our way’

and boy I know
I know that you burn
for your water spirit

Now that I know
I know the lengths that you’d go
to bring the roughest tide that’s right behind me
yes I know I know the lengths that you’d go
to bring the roughest tide in

Smooth like dolphin
Smooth like dolphin

Matthew bring in your fishing nets
I have been marked by your gospel
this daughter of a preacher man
cause boy I feel
I feel that you burn for your water spirit
cause boy I feel
I feel that you burn for your watergirl

Now that I know
I know the lengths that you’d go
to bring the tide that’s racing right behind me
yes I know
I know the lengths that you’d go
to bring the roughest tide in

Smooth like dolphin
Smooth like dolphin

Your number came up on my caller ID the other day and I was just wondering who you were?

"Burn for your watergirl" ? Yes - I think I can see that in context.

Okeee . . .

This makes no sense. Can you explain exactly what you saw on your caller ID? I have no phone numbers registered under Shmoop or Rightgrrl.

What is this really about? And why are you posting anonymously?

I've returned calls from people I didn't recognize to find out who they were. Usually it's just a wrong number.

Sorry, but I'm not buying into this.

If you have something to say, just say it. I'm a big girl.

Otherwise, I'll just brush this under the rug and forget about it.

Alright. I know who you are.

This is really sad, yanno? You're still beating that dead horse after all these years? Aren't you married now with kids of your own? Get a life and move on.

Geez. Psycho . . .

Okeee right back at you

Did you happen to call someone a couple weeks ago and say you saw that persons phone number on your caller ID?

Thanks for coming to my defense, guys! It's nice that someone looks out for me. (Mild sarcasm) It is MUCH appreciated.

That sarcasm was not directed at anyone who has posted here, BTW.

This should tell you who it is. Shmoop, whoever you called a couple weeks ago and said "your number showed up on my caller id" is anon.

Did you call anyone and say this?

8:53 AM"

Yes, I did, and a woman answered the phone and was very rude to me.

Dear Anonymous,

How would you know my blog and my nickname? You were so rude to me on the phone I didn't even get the opportunity to introduce myself. And I called you from a pay phone, BTW.

And your phone number was all over our cell phone bill as well.

I have a feeling you will be silent now and post no more.
